Solamon signs MoU; adds 50 MW of Projects in Ghana and Burkina Faso to West African pipeline
Solamon initiates West African strategy.
- (1888PressRelease) October 10, 2014 - After spending a month on the ground in Ghana, Solamon CEO Graeme Boyce is proud to announce the company has signed a critical Memorandum of Understanding with Fernando Po Ltd, an independent firm based in Accra conducting business across West Africa, representing its first deal under the banner Solamon Ghana. The agreement will see both parties co-develop off-grid solar solutions for private companies; signing on behalf of Fernando Po was Business Development Director Reid Wiles.
"Following an unexpected introduction on the last day of our extremely successful trip to Ghana, we met Mr Wiles in Accra alongside our partners, and discussed the various projects currently under development primarily located in Ghana and Burkina Faso," Boyce explains, "and based on that meeting have now outlined at a top-level our responsibilities in the MoU - in essence launching an effective strategic alliance to move expeditiously and efficiently toward signing commercial-scale deals with local companies."
Augmenting activities already underway targeting large-scale mining operations, Solamon recognizes there are many opportunities to explore in other sectors across numerous industries from Burkina Faso and Ghana to Nigeria and Congo including the manufacturing industry and food processing, in addition to helping to reduce the load on the national grid and increasing capacity in the long-term.
"Based on our supplier relationships," concludes Boyce, "we can offer large-scale open field PV power plants, from 2mw to 50mw, and boutique applications such as rooftop and parking lot solutions, as well as third party solar-powered products - from water pumping and filtration systems, and standalone units for remote clinics and schools - in addition to charging stations, both big and small."
Solamon Energy Corp (GXG:SSL) typically offers a ground-mounted solar array of integrated cells over a package of land called the Apollo Acre™. The company also develops custom solutions with local partners to provide roof-mounted and parking lot systems that are easily augmented by micro wind turbine technology and other innovative features to supply renewable energy locally.
