Alongside its partners at GAT Mining, Solamon Ghana is continuing to work with numerous departments within the Ghanaian Government towards the completion of a 15MW grid-tied solar energy power plant in Ghana's Shama district.
The Shama District is one of the eighteen districts in the Western Region of Ghana. Its capital is Shama. The district is among several new districts and municipalities created in 2008 by then-President John Agyekum Kufuor and was inaugurated on 29 February 2008.

"This is a milestone for our company and it's strategy for West Africa." Says Solamon President Jay Yeo. "The market opportunity for solar in Ghana is huge. I am happy to be working with like minded individuals, who share a strong commitment to building Ghana's renewable energy sector. We are here to stay in Ghana."
