SOIL Partners With TERI - Youth Seminar on Sustainable Living
School of Inspired Leadership, popularly known as SOIL, partnered with TERI for YUVA, a Youth Seminar on "Green Growth - Preparing Youth for Sustainable Living", from 18th to 19th March,2013 at New Delhi.
- (1888PressRelease) April 02, 2013 - The theme for the grand event, Green Growth, was focused on use the existing knowledge to frame innovative solutions and action plans for use of sustainable resources and environmental protection. The event was part of the Delhi Sustainable Development Summit (DSDS) 2013, TERI's annual international summit and attracted hoards of youth from different parts of the country.
The idea of the event was to provide a platform for youth to discuss and deliberate on the core challenges related to green growth and develop their capacities to be able to contribute for the development which is sustainable, resource-efficient and socially-inclusive. The youth is a driving force towards these efforts as they can be strongly instrumental in various activities such as raising awareness, running educational programmes, advocating for policy level changes, designing innovative solutions, technologies and tools, and strengthening public participation for environmental protection.
Youth Unite for Voluntary Action, also known as YUVA, Meet 2013 will continue its effort on sustainable living with State Level Youth Seminars which will be organized in seven states/Union Territories of India including Assam (Guwahati), Goa, Madhya Pradesh (Bhopal), Haryana (Gurgaon), Punjab (Jalandhar), Maharashtra (Pune), Uttarakhand (Dehradun). The state level seminars will be of two days each and will continue to propagate the agenda of preparing the youth for sustainable living. Each youth seminar will focus on a pertinent and pressing environmental challenge in the state/region along with national and global issues.
