Outreach organization to host Christmas party on Dec. 16 at Central Florida Children's Home.
Orlando, FL (1888PressRelease) December 07, 2011 - On Dec. 16th SoftRock Community Outreach, Inc. will be celebrating Christmas with the foster children of Central Florida Children's Home on Narcoossee Rd. that cares for twenty kids whose parents are unable to properly provide for them.
The children have sent the company a list of their Christmas wishes, which employees of SoftRock have been working hard to make come true by collecting donations, toys and other essential items.
The home does not accept state or federal funds; instead, it relies on donations from the community to provide food and clothes for the children -- many of whom are siblings that the volunteers refuse to separate -- leaving nothing for Christmas presents.
Outreach member Peter Fitzgerald visited the home recently, experiencing a moment that convinced him to help.
"These are incredibly loving children. When I arrived, one child threw his arms wide open for a hug, and when I picked him up he laid his head on my shoulder and sighed," Fitzgerald said.
Terri Gladwell, the President of SoftRock Outreach, said that the children in the foster home deserved to be treated to an unforgettable Christmas.
"We want to show the community that these are bright, energetic kids who are thankful for anything that they receive," Gladwell said. "They deserve to be spoiled, so we're trying our best to make them feel appreciated and loved this year."
The toy drive is one part of the Outreach Committee's Month of Miracles, an annual effort to raise awareness of local children's causes by donating gifts to worthy children most in need of a little Christmas magic.
Please help us spotlight these children and the volunteers who care for them by joining us at the Christmas party at 12569 Narcoossee Rd, Orlando, Fla. 32832 at 4 p.m. on Dec. 16th.
