Sofitel Manila celebrates Day 1 of Oktoberfest Manila 2011!
- (1888PressRelease) October 22, 2011 - Sofitel Philippine Plaza, together with the German Club Manila, kicks-off the celebration for the Oktoberfest Manila 2011. Over 1,000 guests attended the premiere German cultural event in Manila last night at Sofitel Manila's prestigious Harbor Garden Tent.
Day 1 of the Oktoberfest Manila 2011 also featured the SEIPI's 106th General Membership Meeting. Program started at 6pm where guests are welcomed by Ernie Santiago, SEIPI President. The Ceremonial Tapping of the Barrel to mark the start of the Oktoberfest Manila 2011 celebration was headed by SEIPI board members. Games such as beer drinking for men and yodelling for women added fun to the event. Dinner buffet included authentic Bavarian delights like Whole Ham with Beer Sauce, Crispy Pork Knuckles with Horseradish, Grilled Sausages with Sauerkraut, Cheese Sausages, Bratwurst Ring, Hungarian, Weisswurst, Bouillion Sausages and a lot more with free flowing of iced-cold beer. Authentic Bavarian music courtesy of The Bavarian Sound Express from Munich was also the highlight of the night.
Day 2 of the Oktoberfest Manila 2011 event happening tonight promises to be equally fun and successful as the German community celebrates their traditional event at the Harbor Garden Tent. Sofitel Manila General Manager, Goran Aleks along with Christof Wegner, Commercial Attaché, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Manila will give their welcome remarks. The traditional Tapping of the Barrels will also be a highlight tonight as well as the beer drinking contest for men. On Day 3, guests wearing dirndl can vie for the title "Best in Dirndl" which will be one of the highlights of the night. Guest of Honor on day 3 is H.E. Dr. Joachim Heidorn, Ambassador, Federal Republic of Germany. Moreover, traditional Bavarian food will also be served and authentic Bavarian music courtesy by The Bavarian Sound Express will definitely make both nights truly memorable. And on Day 4, October 23, 2011, from 10:30am to 2pm, Family day, guests will be entertained with inflatable bouncing castles, magicians, face painters and other fun games while enjoying their Sunday Brunch.
