- Wilmington, NC (1888PressRelease) September 06, 2014 - The Social Science Research Network (SSRN.com), the world's #1 Open Access Repository for scholarly articles (http://repositories.webometrics.info/toprep.asp), released its global rankings for economic authors.

C., have been downloaded over 5,500 times, placing him in the top 1.6% of all authors on the SSRN platform.
In the past 12 month, alone, Vass has had 783 article downloads, placing his 12 month rank in the top 1.3%.
Vass currently has 80 scholarly articles archived on the SSRN platform, and has added 7 new articles in the past 12 months. All of his articles are available for free at: http://ssrn.com/author=831853.
"I published my new ebook, Accredited Investor Crowdfunding, in August of 2014," said Vass, and many of my articles added in the past 12 months on SSRN are excerpts from my book."
"My interest in accredited investor crowdfunding is primarily about how existing, small operational technology companies can obtain small amounts of capital to support company growth," Vass explained. "When small companies obtain capital, they make significant economic contributions to their local economy in terms of job growth," he added.
Vass said that he used his economic research on accredited investor crowd funding leads him to the conclusion that the new method of raising capital will require extensive front end marketing and media relations for small firms that want to undertake a private placement.
"The older model of raising capital was based upon an established network of capital firms, while the newer model of crowdfunding means reaching out to new potential investors who may have an interest in the company," Vass explained. "Prior to 2013, this type of internet public solicitation of investors would not have been legal," he added.
Vass has recently been hosting a new internet television show, The Cape Fear Capital Connection, on The Private Capital News Network, to give companies in the Cape Fear Valley a media platform to broadcast news and information. "Small companies need a media champion to promote greater visibility," Vass said, "and I have partnered with Talk Media TV and Innova Television Networks, to produce this weekly show about technology companies in Southeastern North Carolina."
