Smart Tweezers LCR-meter Expands in Japan with New Distributor
Siborg Systems Inc. has signed a deal with Alpha Corporation in Chiba, Japan, who will offer Smart Tweezers LCR-meter.
- (1888PressRelease) March 31, 2013 - Smart Tweezers are the professional quality tool that simplifies testing and troubleshooting Surface Mount Technology (SMT). Siborg Systems Inc. has signed a deal with Alpha Crop. in Chiba, Japan to promote the product in Japan and surrounding countries.
Smart Tweezers are the combination of a set of tweezer tips, a small display screen and an LCR-meter with the accuracy and speed of conventional bench-type testers. With just a touch of the tips to a component, the device automatically determines the type of component and measures for Inductance (L), Resistance (R) and Capacitance (C). The newest model, the ST5, features designated Equivalent Series Resistance (ESR) measurements, diode and continuity testing, and component sorting with a basic accuracy of 0.2%. Alpha Corp. is a distributor of niche testing tools, materials and machinery for electronics. It primarily offers imported products to Japanese clients. The company also offers unique test equipment for PCBs.
"We are constantly searching for new original products that would be useful to Japanese engineers" says the Director of Alpha Corp., Norito Ito, "I was impressed by Smart Tweezers LCR-meter when I found information about them at Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) website. It looked so unique and handy for any work involving Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) that I contacted Siborg right away and suggested to market this product in Japan and neighboring countries. Although it is very hard to sell imported electronics in Japan, we see a good potential for Smart Tweezers here."
With a patented mechatronic design, Smart Tweezers [http://www.smarttweezers.ca] features very low and well defined parasitics. These parasitics are easily removed using the semi-automatic offset subtraction. With the parasitics removed, the device is able to measure as low a 1 picofarad and 1 milliohm, as well as a fraction of microhenry while measuring for Inductance.
Smart Tweezers have gained the reputation of a professional grade tool best suited for testing and troubleshooting electronics with the same accuracy as expensive bench-type testers, but without the time to take setting-up. The lightweight device measures for L, C and R, as well as secondary parameters such as the ESR. The measurement results appear on the screen nearly instantaneously. Easily held and operated with one hand, Smart Tweezers are simple to use leaving the other free for taking notes, holding other tools, or other tasks.
Smart Tweezers have gained the reputation as a quality device, and indispensable for component characterization and sorting, on-board impedance testing and PCB debugging.
