Smart Badges from Group Dynamics: a unique contactless attendance management system
Group Dynamics, Europe's most innovative interactive voting system manufacturer, unveils a pioneering contactless interactive attendance management system.
- (1888PressRelease) December 02, 2011 - The correct identification of delegates is a vital part of any event. While many events still use simple cardboard badges showing only basic information on them, Smart Badges from Group Dynamics give Event Organisers a new dimension, allowing them to control and measure what occurs at their events.
Based on industry standard RFID technology, Smart Badges are used to identify and process the delegates quickly, efficiently and securely with a simple swipe over an active reader. Access rights can be stored on the badges and a register of each action is collected on the readers for analysis.
As with traditional badging, Smart Badges display all the information needed to identify a delegate: logos and names can easily be printed on the badges in full colour. Their big advantage is that they can also store encrypted information using an integrated RFID circuit. As well as identifying the delegate and the event, they can also store any other relevant information such as demographic data, access and voting rights. They can be used as electronic tickets too, for example, to allow delegates to enjoy a certain number of concessions.
Smart Badges can be scanned at various points for different purposes using contactless readers. They can also be used seamlessly with the Audience Response systems from Group Dynamics, allowing them to be fully integrated with all the activities taking place at a particular event.
"Meetings are about people and our solutions put the focus on those people throughout an event," says Michael Hogan from Group Dynamics. "Our technology is dedicated to making every meeting more successful."
At a recent five-day conference involving 700 international delegates, each delegate had purchased a slightly different package, allowing them to attend a combination of presentations or workshops on different days. The use of Smart Badges informed the organisers who had visited which sessions on which day. This ensured all delegates were getting a fair deal, and revealed attendance patterns for use in future events.
Smart Badges are also ideal at professional symposia where attendance to certain sessions can count towards CPD credits. Charity silent auction events also benefit from the branding opportunities that full colour badges can offer.
