Small businesses given the chance to benefit from $30,000 business support package
Commonwealth Bank has today announced the launch of the BetterBusiness Booster, a new initiative to give small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) the chance to benefit from over $30,000 worth of business support.
- (1888PressRelease) April 17, 2012 - Hosted on the Bank’s Business Facebook page, the BetterBusiness Booster is an interactive online competition designed to help provide support for the profile and growth of businesses across Australia, including smaller businesses which account for more than a thirdi (35.3%) of Australia’s economy and provide employment for over 96%ii of the workforce.
The competition will actively involve the Australian public, encouraging them to get behind their favourite business and help them win, whether it be the corner shop, local butcher, travel agent or accounting firm.
Matt Comyn, Commonwealth Bank Executive General Manager of Local Business Banking, said the BetterBusiness Booster was a new and interactive initiative that would help to recognise and reward the role of SMEs across the country.
“Small businesses are the backbone of the Australian economy, so it’s important that we continue to support their growth and development,” said Mr Comyn.
“Our BetterBusiness Booster will give SMEs the chance to benefit from something quite special. Finalists will receive both a cash injection and a trip to Sydney to meet with senior finance experts, with the winner rewarded with a one year dedicated business coaching program as well as a $10,000. For many businesses, this could make quite a difference to their day-to-day operations.”
HOW TO ENTER
Launching today on Commonwealth Bank’s Business Facebook page, SMEs and the public are invited to nominate either a business they own, work in, or admire for a BetterBusiness Booster worth over $30,000.
Nominations are open for the next three weeks, after which an expert judging panel will name five businesses as finalists. All participating businesses are also invited to take part in a free Business Review, available through the nomination form.
THE PRIZES
To help further develop their business, each of the five finalists will receive a featured profile and video hosted on the Commonwealth Bank Business Facebook page, a trip to Sydney to meet senior finance experts from the Bank and a $1,000 cash injection.
The public will then be invited to vote for the finalist they think most deserves the BetterBusiness Booster. The business with the most votes will take home the grand prize of a $10,000 cash injection, 12 months of expert business coaching from renowned independent small business expert and financial commentator Peter Switzer and a feature profile on the Commonwealth Bank Facebook page. One lucky individual will also receive $10,000, simply by voting.
Mr Comyn said now was the time for businesses or their admirers to get their nominations in to ensure they didn’t miss out on this unique opportunity. He added that there were also extra benefits for businesses taking part.
“To help provide additional support, all participating businesses have the option of requesting a free business review that is available through visiting our Facebook page,” said Mr Comyn.
“With a new financial year approaching, this is a great time for business owners to take a fresh look at their operations and ensure they are ready to take advantage of future opportunities.”
