Slowing food tech industry gets a boost from data driven "BreadNPulp"; funding raised from HNIs

BreadnPulp was founded in August 2015 by 5 IIT Bombay alumni. Praveen Yadav, Founder & CEO said, "In less than 3 months of launch, we have emerged as the growing market segment leader in Mumbai. Having grown to more than 2000+ deliveries/month we serve hundreds of customers every day. This success can be attributed to our strong focus on user service experience, robust meal customisation and immense operational capabilities. We aim to offer personalized breakfast experience to our users and have set up a data science team led by Fazil Basheer, CTO."

BreadnPulp is currently web-only platform and is to launch its mobile app in the coming month. We offer our users an ample choice to order their favourite 3 course breakfast meals anytime with just a few clicks and have it delivered within 29 mins. The web platform tenders a seamless experience to consumers by managing the entire process. Users have the option to either make post delivery online payments with gateways like Coinn, FTCash or opt for COD.

Food ordering site and apps will continue to play a big role in how we discover and consume food through internet. According to an industry report, with the growth in access to internet and smartphones, the home delivery business is all set and is growing exponentially. "We receive about 500+ daily website hits and 100+ orders/day are being delivered inclusive of 40-55 subscribed users, as per the company's claims. This is in-line with the other fast growing foodtech startups."

Arvind Bansal, Operations Head, adds "The online food business operations is a tough game where the traditional food businesses & chefs join hands with specialized marketplaces like FoodPanda, Tinyowl and HolaChef which is a commission-based model. BreadnPulp operates in the shared-inventory model handling the order processing and meal production in-house and operates in collaboration with RoadRunnr as its specialised delivery partners.

There are lot many startups in food ordering space like recently funded Twigly, Stuffed, Bueno that are operating in various promising models but none in niche like breakfast delivery.
