Williams, Director of Business Development, have been selected as a winner of the 2013 State of Florida Healthcare Innovation Competition. The statewide contest was sponsored by University of South Florida's Center for Advanced Medical Learning & Simulation (CAMLS), Florida Blue, and University of South Florida's Center for Entrepreneurship.
Williams presented on behalf of Sleep Apnea Treatment Centers of America, describing the innovative nature of their curative treatments and the ways in which their specialized business model is disrupting the healthcare market. Williams' presentation was judged by a panel of healthcare experts and executives including representatives from Florida Blue and USF's CAMLS and Center for Entrepreneurship. The initial application was chosen out of hundreds of other applicants for the nature of its innovation, likelihood of success, and the unmet market need.
