SITL 2011 Supplies The Right Combination For Key Logistics Players
SITL Logistics Solutions 2011, the trade show for products and services dedicated to procurement, distribution and the supply chain, will take place from 29 to 31 March 2011 at the Parc des Expositions (Pavilion 7.2) in Paris (France).
- (1888PressRelease) February 26, 2011 - This year's trade show will feature a number of new events and two new areas of expertise will be highlighted - safety and security, on the one hand, and planning and scheduling, on the other. The trade fair will also host the eleventh Transport and Logistics Innovations Awards, which will be announced on 20 March at 12.30pm.
The regular features of the trade show will be presented in four distinct areas. These areas are transport and storage; warehousing and related equipment; logistics sites; and, finally, IT systems and technology. Each company, regardless of its size, will be allotted an identical surface area of 9m².
SITL Logistics Solutions 2011 is being scheduled at the same time as the first international ECO Transport & Logistics trade show, the trade event dedicated to environmentally friendly technologies applied to transport and logistics, in order to give the industry's largest event an ecological dimension. SITL will also play host to both the RFID trade show, which will be situated at the very centre of the exhibition, and the European Freight Trains event.
ECO Transport & Logistics will cover various themes such as transport equipment for greener fleets and controlled energy consumption, energy efficiency and cost optimisation for logistical facilities and equipment, and sustainable management in the transport and logistics field.
Radio-frequency identification (RFID) is a technology that is used for automatically identifying a package or item. The RFID trade show offers value-added experience for key business players. Thirty RFID solution providers will be taking part in the RFID trade show, which will take place on 29 March. Suppliers taking part in the RFID trade show will deal with a number of specific themes such as best practice in logistics and the supply chain, RFID as a valuable aid for stock-taking, and RFID in transport (rail, road, air and maritime transport).
In 2010, at a time when the rail freight market was being deregulated across the whole of Europe, the first European Freight Trains event attracted 600 participants. This year, the event is bound to be very popular with visitors and exhibitors, as users seek new ideas. This year, the European Freight Trains event focuses on practical issues surrounding the sector, such as long-distance travel and the search for funding.
Safety and security constitute another important aspect of the transport and logistics sector. Over the last 10 years, there has been a sharp increase in the number of attacks and thefts involving trucks and logistics hubs: current financial losses are estimated at €8 billion for the whole of Europe.
SITL Logistics Solutions takes into account emerging and recurrent themes in the sector, and will be focusing extensively on the theme of safety and security. A number of conferences will be laid on, as well as a dedicated pavilion bringing together those involved in the safety, security and risk-management value chain.
A number of market leaders have already confirmed their attendance such as CEIA International, Niscayah, Securitas France, Securitas Alert Services, Park +, MLPC Technologies, CTS and TAPA.
In a difficult economic climate, both in Europe and throughout the world, companies are increasingly moving towards global supply chains in order to guarantee a seamless flow of goods from one end of the chain to the other.
Having already explored the downstream end of this chain, SITL Logistics Solutions will now focus on the upstream segment, with the creation of a pavilion dedicated to planning and scheduling (APS/Advanced Planning and Scheduling Systems). Leaders in the field of planning and scheduling will be exhibiting on this pavilion, including Futurmaster, Dynasys, OM Partners and Syslife. This theme will also be addressed in a number of conferences.
