Their collaboration moved O'Malley's book ranking on Amazon from 50,000 to 2,500 overnight. The results: O'Malley hired Lopez to promote The Wisdom of Bees through social media networking. Motivated to improve herself, Lopez began her self-coaching journey under the tutelage of Sherry Hudson, Director of Instruction and Training for Quantum Spirit International The self-coaching program was a natural fit for Lopez, who was drawn to the 'Prove IT!' aspect of the program. Born and raised in New York City to Puerto Rican parents, Lopez explains, "I look for proof that something works before I'll try it. I watched my classmates and instructors using the self-coaching tools and saw how effectively those tools worked," she continued. Using the tools that appealed to her, Lopez developed the confidence to begin a collaboration with graphic designer Rs. Luciano. Together, they started vBuzz, a company that develops graphics & social media branding for businesses.

Lopez believes she wouldn't be able to do this work without the self-coaching training. "With self-coaching skills, I stopped beating myself up about my lack of education and trouble with writing in English," she explains. "I only spoke Spanish until I started school, and I was intimidated by O'Malley's credentials," she continued. "But, a lot of people would be missing out on some fabulous information if I let my fear stop me from trying." So she coached herself into taking a risk. "Now, I've proven to myself that I can talk and work with people who have more education than I have. I've gotten over my fear of celebrities by connecting in with my fears and making them work for me instead of stopping me."
