  • Nashville, TN (1888PressRelease) May 14, 2011 - Halcyon Way front man and international rock star Steve Braun sang to a full house on Saturday, April 16th, at JoZoara Coffee Shop. Listeners of all ages sang along to the two-set show featuring covers of familiar rock familiars such as "Signs", "Life is Beautiful" and "Wanted Dead or Alive".

Braun's friends and family along with Murfreesboro locals showed up in full force to hoot, holler and sway to the music of Steve Braun and Friends, David Lowry and Mark Crombie. From a baby who was passed from one loved one to another, to Braun's wife and his mother, everyone had a great time at what was definitely an all-ages show.

Steve Braun's classical voice training paid off, allowing him to hit notes high and low with ease. Although he appeared to be working effortlessly, his clear, melodious crooning provided proof that his years of vocal training have paid off. Long passages of song ending in sustained, controlled vibrato, delighted audience members and had everyone from his mother to first-time listeners swaying and tapping their feet to the music.

Although Braun sings heavy metal with Halcyon Way, and R&B and gospel at his church, the JoZoara set list included a range of songs that spanned four decades. The '70s were represented by the popular "Desperado" by Glenn Frey and Don Henley. Songs from the '80s included "Wanted Dead or Alive" by Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora and "Any Way You Want It" by Steve Perry and Neal Schon. The '90s were revisited with "Barely Breathing" by Duncan Sheik and "If You Could Only See" by the band, Tonic. Despite heavy influences from the past, the trio also performed the more recent "Life is Beautiful" by Nikki Sixx and Daughtry's "Feels Like Tonight".

The unplugged evening was sponsored by MasterMix Music, the record label founded by veteran producer/master sound engineer, Dan Coleman. "We're honored to be associated with the talented Steve Braun," Coleman said. "Our coffeehouse recording sessions, currently an exclusive event at JoZoara, have been extremely successful for everyone concerned. It's a win-win-win scenario. The artists love it, JoZoara loves it, and we love it too!"

The sessions, which normally feature three up-and-coming artists, result in a recording for the artist and a chance to have a song included on a compilation CD that will be sold through JoZoara and participating artists.

"This is a unique opportunity for us to host some of the talented musicians who call Murfreesboro home," said JoZoara co-owner, Teresa Harmon. "We're thrilled to be part of the thriving music scene here." JoZoara is becoming refuge to some of the finest talent in Middle Tennessee.
