Sindabad.com wins BASIS National ICT Award 2018
Sindabad.com, Bangladesh’s first B2B e-commerce site has been awarded the BASIS National ICT Award as the best start-up of the country in 2018.
- (1888PressRelease) September 10, 2018 - Dhaka - Sindabad.com, Bangladesh’s first B2B e-commerce site has been awarded the BASIS National ICT Award as the best start-up of the country in 2018. Post, Telecom and ICT Minister Mustafa Jabbar and ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak handed over the award to sindabad.com today at a ceremony.
The National ICT Awards is an annual program of the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) to recognize outstanding achievements and the contributions of individuals, students, entrepreneurs, SMEs and organisations. Introduced in 2017 as an annual event, the award recognises creativity, innovation, and excellence in the ICT sector of Bangladesh. This year, approximately 650 projects & companies were considered for the award across 35 categories.
Zeeshan Kingshuk Huq, Co-founder & CEO and Sajjad Alam, VP – Business Development of sindabad.com received the Award on stage. This e-Commerce operation offers anything and everything for offices, factories and SMEs for regular business purchases through its online shop. Buyers can purchase office essentials at unified wholesale prices and the items delivered to their premises.
In just 2 years, the company has served more than 500 institutions and 300 SMEs. A venture of Ananta Group, sindabad.com already raised venture financing in their Series A Round from the Frontier Fund, a European private equity fund less than a year back.
‘This award will inspire us to expand sindabad.com efforts in making business purchases easier for offices, factories and SMEs throughout the country. We want small companies to buy like the big companies do, we want the big companies to save hassle and reach better efficiency’, said Zeeshan Kingshuk Huq, in his statement.
BASIS has also nominated sindabad.com for the upcoming APICTA Awards 2018 in Guangzhou, China where 16 other countries will be participating.
