Silanna Qualifies Laser Dicing Capability For Sapphire And Quartz Wafers
Silanna Semiconductor, a manufacturer of Silicon-on-Sapphire (SoS) technology, has qualified a fast turn laser scribe and break capability.

The laser scribing service may be of particular interest to LED manufacturers who use sapphire wafers. Sillana is able to dice quartz and sapphire wafers from to 2 to 6 inches in diameter.
The scribing and prototype integrated circuit assembly capabilities augment Silanna's semiconductor manufacturing services which use Silicon-on-Sapphire CMOS process technologies. Designers of RF and mixed signal ICs can take advantage of Silicon-on-Sapphire process technologies whose insulating substrate eliminates parasitic capacitances from the circuit, enabling high frequencies, low power consumption, and high Q passives.
