Signal Hill Wins Eight Mature Media Awards
Leadership and Communications Consultancy Recognized for Award-Winning Content.
- Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC (1888PressRelease) September 21, 2012 - Signal Hill won two gold, two silver, two bronze and two merit honors last month in the 21st annual National Mature Media Awards.
The competition is the nation's largest awards program honoring the best in marketing, communications, educational materials and programs for adults age 50 and older.
Signal Hill (www.signalhillspot.com) won awards for the third consecutive year, earning recognition for its work on behalf of ABHOW, a leading nonprofit senior living organization based in Pleasanton, Calif. Signal Hill also won a bronze award for Senior Correspondent, the company's own online media venture.
"We are privileged to share the stories of our clients and honored by these awards," says Mallory Flynn, Signal Hill's content manager. "And the recognition of Senior Correspondent, which is entirely powered by the voices of older adults, confirms our belief that people desire a seasoned view of the world."
Launched two years ago, Senior Correspondent (www.seniorcorrespondent.com) is a first in participatory citizen journalism: an Internet and community-based platform where writers over the age of 60 report on politics, arts, travel, health, technology, money and work.
Signal Hill's gold-winning stories included one ABHOW resident's gripping wartime story, "Resident Recollects WWIIService," and "Closing the Generation Gap," a testimony to the profound connection between seniors and school children.
