  • (1888PressRelease) November 16, 2010 - WILTON MANORS, Fla. - Shuster Design Associates recently celebrated its fourth year of conducting business within the historic landmark it acquired in 2006 in the Wilton Manors area of Fort Lauderdale.

Designed by world-renowned architect Dan Duckham in 1965, the mid-century modern, prairie-style structure was originally built for the Robinson Beauty School and later acquired by the Huizenga Family as the administrative offices of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Broward County. Shuster Design Associates subsequently restored the building and received an Award for Excellence from The Wilton Manors Historical Society for its efforts.

It is from this impressive building, located at 1401 N.E. 26th Street, that 30-year design industry veteran Louis Shuster presides over a team of a dozen accomplished interior and architectural designers, design assistants and administrative personnel who serve a roster of sophisticated, affluent clientele. Drafting and AutoCAD are done on site. The design studio also has a conference/presentation room; an art, accessories and lighting gallery; a library with extensive research materials and samples; and reception, accounting, kitchen/lunch areas. There is also a collection of fine art, sculptures and accessories throughout the 5,600 square feet of space.

"The building has an extraordinary energy. It's clean, timeless lines and clerestory windows allow the natural light to flow through the spaces illuminating fabrics, finishes, furnishings and artwork," Shuster said.
