Shri Unnikrishnan, The First South Indian Vaastu Guru Gets The “Bharat Sevak” Honour

Unnikrishnan K, one of the renowned Civil Engineer cum Vaastu Shastra Guru in South India, today received the “Bharat Sevak” honour for blending traditional Vaastu knowledge to the modern-day construction engineering and imparting skill development training to the community of Civil Engineers and Building Designers. His unmatched talent and active involvement in the National Building Process in conformity with the aims and objectives of BSS made him receive the first Bharat Sevak honour in this category. Unnikrishnan received the honour from Shri. B S Balachandran, National Chairman, The Central Bharat Sevak Samaj in the esteemed presence of many industry veterans.
It’s a big honour for Shri. Unnikrishnan who became the first South Indian to have been conferred with the most admired “Bharat Sevak” title which was given under the category of blending traditional Vaastu knowledge to the modern-day construction engineering and imparting skill development training to the community of Civil Engineers and Building Designers., for the first time in the 70-year history of BSS. It’s a proud moment and big honour for the entire Vaastu Shastra fraternity.
On receiving the honour, Shri K Unnikrishnan, said “I am proud to say that am the first recipient of “Bharat Sevak” award from South India in the modern era of traditional Vaastu Shastra. I thank Bharat Sevak Samaj for honouring me and realise my full potential”.
He added, “My passion and inner fire for traditional Vaastu Shastra reflects the beauty of modern-day engineering within each person and reflects the blending traditional Vaastu knowledge. I look forward to representing our state in creating awareness about the importance of adopting Vaastu Shastra among the mass including the modern-day construction engineers and designers”.
Unnikrishnan was born in a traditional family and his father Shri P Krishnankutty Nair was a Retired Executive Engineer in KSEB and his mother Smt. Jayasree P is a School Teacher. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and M. Tech in Structural Engineering.
At the age of 16, he started learning Vaastu from his father, he was the first Guru. Later, started his own Vaastu consulting practice followed by a new firm which was specially formed for residential construction. He successfully completed over 200 projects within the span of 21 years which includes enormous residential and several commercial assignments. Being expert in Vaastu Shastra, he plays a vital role in creating awareness about the importance of Vaastu Shastra and traditional Indian system of architecture unlike others who just frame Vaastu inside the religious tradition.
Later, he started exploring and spreading the knowledge among the mass including traditional Indian system of architecture to the modern-day construction engineers and designers. His vision is to create comfort zones of dwelling by blending traditional architectural principles with contemporary technology, and to make the positive essence of Vaastu shastra available to the common man by teaching aspiring civil engineers.
