Shred-it, headquartered in Ontario, Canada teamed up with Sky Technologies of California to develop a mobile solution that improved the efficiency of their Customer Service Reps (CSRs). By extending the SAP CRM module out to the field, Shred-it was able to enable CSRs to issue invoices to their customers onsite, capture signatures, record proof of service and update the corporate call center in real-time.
By deploying Sky Technologies' SkyMobile platform on Windows Mobile handheld devices, Shred-it has been able to provide Line of Custody Tracking whereby they can provide their customers with electronic evidence of tracking of materials from pick-up to destruction.
While the CSRs are in the field, SkyMobile provides the flexibility of Dynamic Routing whereby the Customer Service center can add or change service orders while the truck is in route. With real-time updates, the SkyMobile platform is able to provide CSR Tracking and, when linked with Descartes route planning system, they are able to track the actual route of the CSR against plan. This also assists in providing predictability of on-time service, notification of late arrival, or confirmation of on-time service.
