Short Film Makers Get Chance to Make Films with Anurag Kashyap
Tumbhi Selects Five Promising Film Makers Through 'Paanch' Competition.
- (1888PressRelease) August 23, 2011 - Tumbhi, a talent showcase platform for short film makers, script writers, singers, music composers and photographers, recently selected five short film makers through a competition named 'Paanch'. The winners are getting a chance to make short films under the mentorship of internationally acclaimed film director, producer, writer and actor Anurag Kashyap.
"There is no dearth of talent in India but it often goes untapped. While there are few platforms available for models, actors, singers where they can showcase their talent, there is hardly anything for short film makers. We believe that short film making requires different passion, talent and skills. Through Tumbhi.com, we would like to provide a platform for such untapped artists to help them showcase their talent and get a chance to interact with eminent people from the industry.
The Paanch competition is a step towards providing opportunities to such hidden talent", says Robin Rastogi, Senior Executive at Tumbhi.
The Paanch competition was hosted on Tumbhi.com in the month of May 2011. Thousands of artists participated in the competition and submitted their scripts. An eminent panel of judges comprising of Anurag Kashyap, Javed Siddiqui, L C Singh and Pankaj Shukla selected the winners purely on merit basis.
"I am extremely thrilled to be a winner of Paanch competition. Finally my talent has got an opportunity. My interaction with Anurag Kashyap was a treat within itself. Through the one day workshop with Anurag Sir, I have learned so much which I don't think I could have possibly learned in any formal class. Now I am looking forward to the film making under Anurag sir's mentorship", said Annie Zaidi, one of the Paanch winners.
The cast and crew for these films will be chosen from and among the registered artistes and technicians on Tumbhi. The cast and crew requirements for the first film are already publicized and entries are invited. More information on this is available at http://www.tumbhi.com/short-films-competition/writer.jsp.
Once the films are ready, Tumbhi plans to promote these at a large scale. Tumbhi also has plans to extensively use social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube for promotion of these films. These movies will also be available in DVD format. This would possibly be for the first time that short film lovers will have access to quality short films on a DVD.
