Shelter Rock Builders Llc To Distribute Over 600 Turkeys To Local Communities For Thanksgiving
Shelter Rock Builders LLC, a family-owned residential contracting company, has announced that they will be distributing over 600 turkeys to community organizations in Brooklyn and the Bronx. A local tradition for 12 years and counting, Shelter Rock’s annual turkey giveaway is a much-loved community event – especially for the Shelter Rock family itself.
- New York, NY (1888PressRelease) November 14, 2018 - Shelter Rock Builders LLC, a family-owned residential contracting company, has announced that they will be distributing over 600 turkeys to community organizations in Brooklyn and the Bronx. A local tradition for 12 years and counting, Shelter Rock’s annual turkey giveaway is a much-loved community event – especially for the Shelter Rock family itself.
“Every year this event is something that we particularly look forward to,” said Ben Shavolian, Owner, Developer & General Contractor for Shelter Rock. “In the early days, we would load the trucks and deliver the turkeys ourselves. This year, we’ve partnered with Mario Trotta of Fancy Foods in Hunts Point, which allows us to expand our reach and help out more families than ever before.”
It is estimated that over 36,000 people have enjoyed complimentary Thanksgiving turkey over the 12 years of the program. This year, several organizations will be receiving and distributing the free turkeys throughout Brooklyn and the Bronx. Some of the previous and current recipients include:
• Brooklyn Community Services
• Trinity Human Services Corporation
• The Local Development Corp of East NY
• Churches United for Fair Housing
• Neighborhood Housing Services
• Holy Family Church
• NYC Brooklyn Youth
• Various Brooklyn Community Board
In addition, the company is planning an open giveaway to the public, allowing the Shelter Rock team to interact with recipients and strengthen their community ties. “The best and most gratifying moments are the time we get to spend meeting people, and bringing a little joy into their holiday,” concludes Shavolian. “I think we might get just as much enjoyment out of it as the people do, especially when we see the smiles on their faces.”
