  • (1888PressRelease) July 03, 2013 - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - The event which was graced and officiated by special Guest of Honor, Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Raja Puan Muda Perlis Tuanku Hajjah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah, a member of the Royal Family of Perlis, was also attended by more than 100 distinguished guests and dignitaries.

    The first of its kind to have ever been launched in Malaysia, Sheikha Hub aims to help support both start-ups as well as seasoned entrepreneurs promote their products and services to potential customers and investors locally and in the region. The hub will help disseminate information on their product offerings, promote collaboration between brands and businesses as well as highlight innovation and best practices through Sheikha Hub's various channels which includes on-ground activities, innovative social networking and value-added technological services online as well as informative business initiatives such as seminars, forums and business tips from established business owners.

The directory not only acts as a one-stop centre for customers looking to purchase the latest in muslimah-fashion related products and services, but it also acts as a centre for potential models to get in touch with local brands.

    The top 8 finalists competing for the grand prize title were judged based on looks, personality, confidence and communication by four professional judges - YM Tengku Dato Zalila Tengku Kamarulzaman (Council member of Malaysia Islamic Fashion Festival, MIFF); Ms Natasha Hudson (Celebrity and Muslimah fashion entrepreneur); Ms Nursuziana Zulkifli (Editor of Hijabista Magazine), and head judge, Ms Nurfarahin Jamsari (former presenter and newscaster of TV3 and judge of Gadis Melayu TV9).

    The top three spots were won by Syahira Shaharudin, Shahira Affandee and Ainul Nadirah Ahmad Basri in first, second and third place consecutively. The grand prize winner walked away with a modelling contract worth RM 10,000, return flight tickets to Jakarta and a new wardrobe worth RM 2,000.

    Some of the businesses already registered in Sheikha Hub's directory took part in Sheikha's Muslimah Fashion Bazaar which was held over the weekend at the same venue, The Boulevard, Publika, selling various muslimah-related products such as hijabs, abayas, clothing, accessories and many more. A forum featuring established business owners and entrepreneurs - Ms Zamzarina Zambri (celebrity host of 'Apa Kata Wanita' RTM1 and owner of the ZARRA brand); Che Puan Mimi Wahidah (former well-known model and manager of RATU boutique); Madam Nurul Azwin (owner and partner of NAJJAH boutique) as well as Mr Ganeemathullah Baharudin (Digital SME) -talking about various business topics was also held to help start-ups and seasoned entrepreneurs alike.

    Other activities organized over the two-day event included Hijab styling sessions by Hijabista Magazine and Dya Romantika as well as exciting performances by Haqqani Maulid Ensemble, Suraya Tarmizi, Drum Circle and Ain Zulkifly.
