AICPA selects Shawn P Adamo as Money Doctor.
- Monmouth-Ocean, NJ (1888PressRelease) November 18, 2014 - Shawn P. Adamo, CPA, PFS, has been named a Money Doctor with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
The Money Doctor program has assembled a panel of qualified Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) that have attained the Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) credential for personal financial planning. Money Doctors are available to answer questions online from consumers regarding their financial planning issues and the program is offered as a public service.
Shawn Adamo, with over 30 years of financial services experience, explained that, "I was honored to be selected to participate in this volunteer program, which broadens the accessibility of financial expertise to consumers who may not have the opportunity to work with a professional financial adviser. This program provides a way to help protect consumers by offering specific guidance on their financial issues. I look forward to participating as one of the 14 national Money Doctors on behalf of the AICPA 360 Degrees to Financial Literacy."
To be accepted into the Money Doctor program, a financial adviser must be qualified as both a CPA and a PFS. A CPA must meet minimum experience, education and examination requirements to obtain the PFS credential, which demonstrates expertise in personal financial planning.
The PFS credential sets its holders apart from other CPAs and financial planners.
All areas of personal financial planning including estate, retirement, investments and insurance - have tax implications, and the PFS professional has the experience, ethics, and expertise to get the job done right.
The Money Doctor program is sponsored by the AICPA Personal Financial Planning Section, which supports CPAs that are involved in any aspect of personal financial planning including income tax, estate, retirement, investment, or insurance planning.
