Sharon Hill to Author Chapter of Upcoming Professional Woman Network Book for African-American Girls
Triangle-based Professional Speaker and Etiquette Trainer Will Contribute Personal Success Story.
- Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC (1888PressRelease) March 31, 2011 - The Professional Woman Network, a national seminar consulting organization concerned with the empowerment of women and youth, will be publishing a new self-empowerment book for African-American girls entitled Sister to Sister: A Guide for African-American Girls. Sharon Hill, Triangle-based professional speaker and business etiquette trainer, will be authoring a chapter of Sister to Sister, in which she will tell her own empowering story of how she came from humble beginnings to achieve corporate success in a global management position with IBM and, ultimately, personal fulfillment through her current career path. Hill's chapter will be entitled "Rags to Riches: My Personal Scar."
The book, which will provide young African-American girls with insights from successful African-American women, is designed to give readers a head start in setting goals and avoiding the common pitfalls that many experience. Sister to Sister will feature chapters authored by 25 prominent African-American businesswomen, and will be edited by Linda Ellis Eastman, internationally renowned author, editor, speaker, consultant, and president of the Professional Woman Network.
Hill has authored four books to date, focusing mainly on business etiquette and advice for achieving corporate success. "I'm honored and excited to be contributing to such an impactful project," she said. "Though I've written several books, I've never had the opportunity to fully share my personal experiences in a way that will have such a significant effect on so many young minds. I'm looking forward to collaborating with all the esteemed women of the African-American community that will be involved with Sister to Sister."
Sister to Sister: A Guide for African-American Girls has an expected publishing date of June 28, 2011. Besides including testimony, advice, and guidelines from prominent African-American women, the book will feature actionable steps, to-do lists, and activities for readers to apply, which will reinforce learning and illustrate concrete methods for implementing growth strategies.
