Shane Griffin Named Chef of Point Pinos Grill
Just Announced! Point Pinos Grill in Pacific Grove has a new Chef!
- Salinas, CA (1888PressRelease) October 02, 2013 - Point Pinos Grill announced its new Chef, Shane Griffin. Griffin has worked in the restaurant industry for almost 20 years. His cooking career started as a way to put himself through college, when he quickly realized that his huge passion for food needed to be pursued.
His career began in Santa Cruz under the tutelage of Shawn Haddon, a former Chef in the White House. From there he moved on to the notable properties Monterey Plaza Hotel and Spa and Quail Lodge while also working with Masters of Food and Wine for several years. Seeking a change he left the Monterey Peninsula for wine country, where he expanded his knowledge working for Charlie Palmer at the Dry Creek Kitchen in Sonoma. From there he headed to Pasadena, assisting in the opening several local bistros. While working in Pasadena he was offered the opportunity to become the Sous Chef at the Monterey Clement and like many of us it brought him back to the Monterey Peninsula.
"Shane is an amazing chef that was most recently working at Carmel Valley Ranch," said Diane Kleindienst, Point Pinos Grill General Manager. "We are privileged to have him as a part of our growing team at Point Pinos Grill and with AQUA TERRA Culinary. He is extremely excited to share his passion for food with Pacific Grove area residents and visitors. If you haven't had the chance to come down and try his food, with the seasons changing there will be many tweaks to the menu to make it his own, but more immediately come down and try the amazing specials at dinner that highlight his passion and experiences."
