(1888PressRelease) January 15, 2018 - Shammi Rana is appointed as Rapporteur of Unesco Traditional Sports and Games to promote Unesco's Mandate on Traditional Sports and Games.Mr Rana also a Secretary General of Asian Belt Wrestling Federation and being Promoter Mr Rana is promoting Belt Wrestling as martial arts and Traditional Sports and Games.

Mr. Rana, through his work as a Public Relations Expert & Promoter of Martial Arts Organizations, has more than 20 years of promoting experience at the top levels of professional sports activity. Through sports diplomacy, he has worked with state dignitaries around the world to promote political, social and diplomatic relations at the highest levels of government. His work is so revered that in 2017, the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization appointed him Rapporteur/Secretary General of the UNESCO Traditional Sports and Games Ad Hoc Advisory Committee to promote the 2017 UNESCO Traditional Sports and Games (TSG). TSGs are sports practices that has been designated as intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO, which is a specialized agency of the United Nations responsible for coordinating international cooperation in education, science, culture and communication. In this capacity, Mr. Ranna’s efforts led to meetings with international dignitaries and presidents of many sports associations including the United States, Italy, India, and Kazakhstan to discuss UNESCO TSG inclusion and participation.

Mr. Rana, who is also the General Secretary of the Asian Belt Wrestling Federation, the Official Governing Body of Sports Belt Wrestling in Asia, also saw to the established five new member countries—India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, South Korea, and Bangladesh—all of which will participate in UNESCO’s upcoming TSG events in Brazil and Russia.

Mr Rana also appointed as member of Interim Coordination Committee of TSG in PAN America to promote Traditional Sports and Games in PAN America.
