SGS to Provide Free Webinars on Advanced Ultrasonic Testing in Nuclear Power Plants and Time of Flight Diffraction (TOFD)

- (1888PressRelease) April 15, 2011 - SGS is organizing free 60 minute webinars, titled 'Advanced Ultrasonic Testing in Pre-service and In-service Inspection of Nuclear Power Plants' and ' Time of Flight Diffraction (TOFD): Theory and Practice'. Hosted by Ton Kooren, Global Expert Advanced NDT, and Norbert Trimborn, Strategic Business Leader Advanced NDT, respectively, the free 60 minute webinars will be available across the globe in Asia, Europe, the Americas and Africa. Each of the webinars will be available in four sessions to meet the needs of attendees in every time zone.
With the webinar on an introduction to 'Ultrasonic Testing for the Pre-Service and In-Service Inspection of Nuclear Power Plants' SGS hopes to inform participants about the application of advanced techniques for the Pre-service Inspection and In-service Inspection of nuclear power plants. Moreover, SGS will provide information regarding how a Pre-service Inspection can benefit the In-service Inspection, and how thorough design aids the application of In-service Inspections.

The other free webinar SGS is organizing is about Time of Flight Diffraction. Through this webinar SGS hopes to inform participants about the characteristics of this testing method as well as its advantages and disadvantages. In addition, SGS seeks to provide attendees with thorough information on Pre-service and In-service applications of TOFD. Based on the extensive experience and expertise in the field of Non-Destructive Testing, SGS provides not only the theoretical background, but also very useful practical information, backed by various examples of TOFD scans.
