SGS Summarizes Updated Turkish Food Contact Plastics Regulation

(1888PressRelease) June 02, 2024 - SGS, the world’s leading testing inspection and certification company, has summarized Turkish amendments to its food contact plastics regulation in SafeGuardS 079.24.

The nation’s Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry revised the Food Codex Regulation on food contact plastics with a notification published under number 32538 on May 6, 2024. This implements changes previously made to the European Union’s Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011 on food contact plastics.

The changes relate to the following EU regulations that amend Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011:
• Regulation (EU) 2020/1245 (amendment 15)
• Regulation (EU) 2023/1442 (amendment 16)
• Regulation (EU) 2023/1627 (amendment 17)
