SGS Summarizes Updated Chinese Product Standard for Down and Feather Quilts
SGS publishes SafeGuardS looking at the new Chinese product standard for down and feather quilts – QB/T 1193-2023 – which came into effect on November 1, 2023.
- (1888PressRelease) December 30, 2023 - SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published SafeGuardS 165.23 to provide stakeholders with a summary of China’s new product standard for down and feather quilts – QB/T 1193-2023.
Published in No. 7 announcement of approved industry standards in 2023 by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the new standard came into effect on November 1, 2023, replacing QB/T 1193-2012. It covers the design, production, inspection and sale of the following quilt types:
• Down
• Feather
• Composite down
• Composite feather
It does not relate to quilts where the filling materials consist of down/feather with other wadding materials.
SGS publishes SafeGuardS to keep stakeholders informed about regulatory and market changes that may impact their business. SafeGuardS 162.23 provides an overview of the new standard and includes more details on the main technical requirements and details of the additions, revisions and deletions between the 2012 iteration of the standard and the new standard.
