SGS Summarizes Update to European Children’s Drinking Equipment Standard
SGS publishes SafeGuardS looking at CEN’s amended version of its children’s drinking equipment standard – EN 14350:2020+A1:2023.
- (1888PressRelease) September 05, 2023 - SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published a SafeGuardS detailing changes to the European standard for children’s drinking equipment.
The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) published EN 14350:2020+A1:2023 on August 9, 2023. This standard amends EN 14350:2020 and covers safety requirements relating to materials, construction, performance, packaging and product information for drinking equipment intended for children 0 to 48 months of age.
SGS has published SafeGuardS 104.23 to help stakeholders understand the major changes brought in by the latest iteration of the standard. These include a clarification of the testing standards to be used and the addition of a new annex. The article also details specific requirements mandated by Denmark’s Ministry of Environment and the proposed dates for implementation as a national standard.
Stakeholders are advised to review SGS’s original SafeGuardS 104.23 for more information.
