SGS Summarizes New Albanian Importing Rules for Certain Plastic Kitchenware from China and Hong Kong
SGS publishes SafeGuardS looking at new Albanian rules for importing polyamide and melamine plastic kitchenware from China and Hong Kong.
- (1888PressRelease) September 08, 2023 - SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published a SafeGuardS to help suppliers of polyamide and melamine plastic kitchenware from China and Hong Kong understand Albania’s new importing rules.
Albania’s Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development issued Act No.17 of July 14, 2023, on August 1, 2023. This establishes specific conditions and detailed procedures for importing polyamide and melamine plastic kitchenware originating in or consigned from the People’s Republic of China (China) and Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, China (Hong Kong).
The act is partially aligned with European Union Regulation (EU) No. 284/2011.
SGS has published SafeGuardS 110.23 to help stakeholders navigate the new rules. In addition to an overview of the act, it also includes a summary of the provisions within the act, including details of the declaration that must be made by importers and the test report that must accompany it.
Stakeholders are advised to review SGS’s original SafeGuardS 110.23 for more information.
The new law will come into effect on September 30, 2024.
