(1888PressRelease) June 22, 2024 - SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification, has published SafeGuardS 088.24 to keep stakeholders informed about the latest moves relating to the joint plan by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to expand the current eFiling beta pilot test.

eFiling will significantly impact the way consumer products enter the US market. It will ensure the correct filing of either a Children Product Certificate (CPC) or General Certificate of Conformity (GCC), for non-children’s products.

On June 4, 2024, the CPSC announced an expansion in its eFiling beta test pilot. A further 2,000 volunteers will be allowed to participate. Ultimately this requirement will become mandatory.
