SGS Publishes Summary of China’s New Product Standard for Black Rain Boots
SGS publishes SafeGuardS looking at China’s new product standard for black rain boots (shoes).
- (1888PressRelease) June 28, 2023 - SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published a SafeGuardS to help stakeholders gain a better understanding of the technical requirements in China’s new product standard for black rain boots.
Product standard HG/T 2019-2022 was issued on September 30, 2022, by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China (PRC). It applies to black rain boots (shoes) made using the vulcanization process and rain boots (shoes) made using the injection molding process. It does not apply to industrial and mining boots and PPE boots (shoes).
SGS SafeGuardS 068.23 contains details of the main technical changes introduced by HG/T 2019-2022. In includes a detailed table covering the requirements and test methods associated with parameters such as appearance quality, tensile strength, hardness, abrasion resistance of outsole and resistance to water penetration.
Stakeholders are advised to review SGS’s original SafeGuardS 068.23 to learn more about the scope and requirements in HG/T 2019-2022.
HG/T 2019-2022 replaces HG/T 2019-2011 and became effective on April 1, 2023.
