- (1888PressRelease) June 01, 2022 - SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, is reminding stakeholders that the People’s Republic of China (PRC) has issued a new standard for children’s athletic shoes.
Published on December 2, 2021, by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, QB/T 4331-2021 came into effect on April 1, 2022, replacing the 2012 iteration. The standard covers the production, inspection and sale of children's and infants’ athletic shoes for general use.
Stakeholders should be aware the new standard includes revisions to:

Among the additions to the standard is a requirement relating to the width of the cutting edge during the upper-sole peeling strength or sidewall-upper peeling strength test.
Finally, deletions to the standard include:
• Terms and definitions of ‘low upper footwear’
