  • (1888PressRelease) March 19, 2025 - SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published SafeGuardS 016.25, summarizing the forthcoming revision of nearly all EN 71 standards and EN 62115 in 2025. Updates will be regularly provided in SGS SafeGuardS.

A standardization request is a new approach to defining the work program for the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) and the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC). The European Commission signed the agreement with CEN/CENELEC in October 2022, and the deadline for the adoption of new and revised standards is October 25, 2025. Therefore, most in-scope standards will be revised in 2025.

SGS experts publish SafeGuardS to inform stakeholders about regulatory developments that could impact their business. SafeGuardS 016.25 includes 21 detailed tables outline the upcoming changes to the EN71 series of toy standards and EN 62115 for electric toys. It also provides updates on harmonization progress, clarifies key terminology and explains the status of the revisions.

Stakeholders are advised to consult the original SafeGuardS 016.25 for more details.
