SGS Hong Kong and SGS Shenzhen are accredited to perform INMETRO TOY TESTING
Based on the new Administrative Rule 321/2009, foreign labs accredited by the International. Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) are allowed to test toy shipments for conformity with system 5 and system 7 for certification to the Brazilian MERCOSUR Technical Regulations on Toy Safety.
- (1888PressRelease) September 21, 2010 - An INMETRO accreditation is required for foreign conformity assessment bodies to undertake certification and issue the applicable certificate of conformity.
In August 2010, SGS laboratories in Hong Kong and Shenzhen have gained INMETRO accreditation for both system 5 and system 7 and upon a client's request can pick up samples at the factory and conduct testing at the Hong Kong and Shenzhen facilities. SGS testing reports are reviewed by the local accredited certification assessment body (e.g. INNAC) and issue the certificate of compliance. This will enable the importer to place the INMETRO mark on products destined for the Brazilian market.
