SGS Helps Manufacturers Navigate Global PFAS Regulations for Consumer Products
SGS publishes a Consumer Compact article summarizing the issues around PFAS in consumer goods and the solutions available to manufacturers.
- (1888PressRelease) July 08, 2023 - SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published a Consumer Compact article looking at the issue of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in consumer products.
PFAS are a diverse and expanding group of synthetic chemicals that are used in a wide variety of consumer goods due to their water, grease and oil-repellent properties. These ‘forever chemicals’ are now recognized as carcinogenic, toxic to reproduction, harmful to fetus development and endocrine disruptors, and across the world governments are starting to regulate their use.
SGS’s Consumer Compact article looks at the problem of PFAS, the regulatory landscape and the solutions available to manufacturers.
