SFMC Tops Consumer Reports For Safest Hospital In Mercer County
This is the first time that Consumer Reports has rated hospitals for safety. The article provides a ranking by state in the categories of infections, readmissions, communication and scanning.
- Newark, NJ (1888PressRelease) October 17, 2012 - The magazine used data sources, patient and physician interviews, hospital administrators and safety experts. Medical literature was also reviewed, as well as, hospital inspections and investigations.
Some of the data used by Consumer Reports came from the Leapfrog Group (leapfroggroup.org) and Hospital Compare (hospitalcompare.hhs.gov). The data did not assess how successful hospitals are at treating medical conditions.
St. Francis Medical Center ranked in the top ten hospitals in New Jersey and was the only hospital in Mercer County to reach the top ten.
