Seven East County Children Receive Free Braces From Local Orthodontist
Dr. Robert Sheffield of Sheffield Orthodontics gives seven children from East Contra Costa County another reason to smile!
- Oakland, CA (1888PressRelease) November 29, 2011 - In April of this year Dr. Robert Sheffield, of Sheffield Orthodontics, formed a non-profit organization called Smile for a Lifetime. Through an application process, the Smile for a Lifetime local board of directors selects children from the local area to receive orthodontic scholarships providing treatment free of charge.
"The board is looking for children between the ages of 11 and 18 who really need orthodontic treatment…who otherwise would most likely not be able to afford to have braces. It's the gift of a new smile, which hopefully leads to improved self-confidence and a dramatic life change for these children. That, in essence, is the mission of Smile for a Lifetime," Sheffield explains.
The Smile for a Lifetime Board recently selected seven recipients for the 2011 year. The Scholarship recipients were: Stephen White, Asia Hankins, Jennifer Moran, Renee Ortega, Jordan Coulan, Angelina Aguayo and Sebastian Cuevas. All of the recipients had their braces placed November 17th and 18th.
The Smile for a Lifetime, East Contra Costa County board of directors is currently accepting applications for the 2012 year. The current application period runs from now until the end of February 2012. The Smile for a Lifetime Foundation will be awarding 12 orthodontic scholarships for the upcoming year and for each year hereafter. Dr Robert Sheffield will be providing all the needed orthodontic treatment free of charge.
