AN ONLINE wine company has become one of the first British retailers to integrate with social media.
(1888PressRelease) December 04, 2009 - Serenata Wines is hoping its implementation of Facebook Connect will spread the word about its vinos.
The Facebook Connect integration allows users to log in to SerenataWines.com using their Facebook account details. They can then share information about Serenata’s range of reds and whites with all their Facebook friends.
Peter Ahl, Managing Director of Serenata Wines, said: “Facebook users can log in with their Facebook credentials and they can also ask their friends what they think of a certain wine. Basically, customers will be able to bring their friends shopping with them to our site.
“Facebook is a growing worldwide phenomenon and we are delighted to become one of the first UK retail sites to integrate with Facebook Connect.”
A growing number of companies and social networking sites in the US have already adopted the power of Facebook Connect, and adoption is continuing to grow in a variety of areas including ecommerce.
Facebook Connect features seamless, one-click authentication, Facebook friend account linking and distribution back into a user’s Facebook stream. Customers do not have to create a separate account for every Facebook Connect website but can use their log in details for each site.
Using Facebook Connect for authentication has been proved to dramatically increase exposure to its third party websites.
