Sennheiser Looks to Drive Growth in Key Market Segments, Announcing Executive Appointments in its Consumer and Telecommunications Channels
20-Year CE Veteran Keith Kranepool is Named VP Sales and Product Marketing, Consumer, While Bill Whearty is Tapped to Lead Sennheiser's Expanding Telecommunications Channel.
- (1888PressRelease) December 06, 2012 - Old Lyme, Conn.- Audio specialist Sennheiser announces two key executive appointments within its U.S. organization. Effective immediately, Keith Kranepool has been appointed to the position of vice president, sales and product marketing consumer, replacing Bill Whearty who held the position since 2006. Whearty has been tapped to lead Sennheiser's newest and fastest growing channel - telecommunications, and has been named vice president, sales and marketing, telecommunications. Kranepool and Whearty will both report directly to Greg Beebe, president of Sennheiser Electronic Corporation.
The appointments of Kranepool and Whearty reflect the continued successful growth of Sennheiser's consumer and professional business in the Americas, which last year increased its overall revenues by 26.5 percent. Sennheiser, which has a well known reputation in the consumer electronics arena, entered the telecommunications market in 2003 and now offers an extensive portfolio of call center solutions, mobile headphone devices, gaming headsets, and other products. Since then, Sennheiser has experienced rapid growth in its headset sales, particularly in call center solutions and applications.

Keith Kranepool is a 20-year veteran of the consumer electronics industry, having held sales and marketing roles at well-known companies including Sony Electronics, Bose Corporation and D&M Holdings. Most recently, Kranepool was vice president, sales and marketing for Velocity Micro, where he was responsible for leading the sales and marketing teams in the computer, tablet and peripheral businesses.
Bill Whearty, meanwhile, began his career with Sennheiser over a decade ago and for the past several years has led Sennheiser's sales and product marketing efforts for the consumer business channel, which until recently included telecommunications. Prior to joining Sennheiser, Whearty was director of sales at GN Netcom, where he gained significant experience in call center applications and the telecommunications market.
