Semantic technology out of the Middle-East, Pragmatech to launch 'ctrl'

(1888PressRelease) November 10, 2010 - PRAGMATECH, an information technology company wholly funded by the United Development Company - owner and master developer of Qatar's first urban development, The Pearl-Qatar - announced this week the release of CTRL, a semantic engine for text processing of news-like documents.

PRAGMATECH's management summarizes the difference between CTRL and other semantic engines/products with one phrase: "the Search is Over" - saying that while others have been using the keyword "semantics", they are all essentially still keyword-based systems. CTRL, on the other hand, is a purely semantic engine that can be used to extract a document's key topics, to generate lucid summaries of documents and can be used to index and retrieve relevant documents based on concepts and key topics as opposed to keywords.

The release of CTRL has thus far been limited. CTRL-News, a web-based service to test the CTRL engine has been released to a selected list of technology experts and by invitation only. Registered users can submit a profile of news stories they like to track, and receive from CTRL-News only highly relevant stories along with their summaries and key topics.
