Securing Saudi Quality Mark Certification for Ceramic Tiles
An expert webinar on Saudi Arabia’s certification program for ceramic tile products.
- (1888PressRelease) November 19, 2024 - SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, is delighted to host a complimentary webinar, ‘Securing Saudi Quality Mark certification for ceramic tiles,’ on December 3, 2024. This webinar will be of interest to all manufacturers, distributors, importers and exporters of ceramic tile products.
The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization’s (SASO) Technical Regulation for Building Materials, Part 4: Bricks, Tiles, Ceramics, Sanitary Ware and Related Products covers ceramic tile products, including porcelain. Under this regulation, businesses wishing to sell these products in the Kingdom must apply for the Saudi Quality Mark (SQM) to demonstrate conformity with the country’s standards. Without this certification, which is based on the ISO/IEC 17065 international quality standard, market access delays and financial penalties are possible.
In this webinar, presenters Ziyad Alshaikh and Adriana Gomes take attendees through the background and process of SQM certification, including online applications, document review and factory audits. The SQM is valid for three years and SGS, as a Notified Body, can assist businesses in navigating and streamlining certification.
According to the Saudi Customs Authority, the country’s market for imported ceramic tile products was worth USD 2.37 billion at the end of June 2024. This webinar provides insight that enable seamless access and success in this lucrative market.
