Abilene, TX (1888PressRelease) December 31, 2010 - Happy New Year! Are you looking for a meaningful way to welcome in 2011 Friday, Dec 31? Seattle Unity, a Down-Town Spiritual Community, provides two family oriented events to celebrate the coming of the New Year. Located at 8th Ave N and John street just next to Denny Park, the church is easy to find with easy freeway access.

The first event touches the New Year from a Spiritual side. It is a World Peace Candle lighting and Chanting service at 8 pm. Traditionally held in the intimate, acoustical chapel, this ceremony recognizes and appreciates the many areas in our world that will benefit from a blessing of peace. Rev Karen Lindvig and Sada Simran will guide attendees through prayers for peace and prayerful chanting. In an experience open to all faiths, we embrace World Peace.

At 9 pm, celebrate with dinner & dancing to the music of DJ Kenny. The church is providing Lasagna, (meat and vegetarian choices) as well as a scrumptious green salad. We ask that you bring a side dish or a desert to share, as well as your favorite beverage (alcoholic or non-alcoholic).
