Funnyman Sean Collins shocks cast mates and Audience, and leaves theater company reeling to find a replacement.
Philadelphia, PA-NJ (1888PressRelease) November 07, 2011 - In King of Prussia, PA, you know that Christmas is just around the corner when ETC Theater begins rehearsals for their annual Christmas sketch comedy show. Practices opened yesterday for "Not Again, an ETC funnyman Sean Collins abruptly quit ETC Theater. His reasons for leaving the group are still unknown.
ETC founder, Todd Cardin was surprised when he heard the news, but had a feeling that Collins was moving in a different direction. Cardin sensed that Collins was not happy with ETC at this year's Philly Fringe Festival. The groups entry, "Getting the Knack" was wildly popular but Collins seemed somewhat lukewarm on the material. He was the only cast member who was not in attendance for ETC second entry in the Festival, "The Angel, The Devil and Greg Brady".
Collins departure in and of itself is a big blow to ETC, but the method in which he left the group has the theater company scrambling to find an ample replacement. The news of Collins exit came at the start of the initial rehearsal when Collins contacted cast member Christopher Ozorowski and non nonchalantly let it be known that the Christmas show was "not his thing". Todd Cardin has stated that this move will not affect plans for the upcoming revival of his Knack show. No word on if or when auditions will take place to recast the Collins's character in the upcoming performances.
