  • (1888PressRelease) January 12, 2011 - LAS VEGAS, NV - ScripNet, a nationwide pharmacy benefits manager (PBM) that contracts with workers' compensation insurance carriers and pharmacies, launched their new online claims management web portal ScripNet Access Point™ (SNAP) for its clients, providing secure access to their workers' compensation - pharmacy benefit management claims data. This web-based portal enables client adjusters to access and approve pending claims authorizations, to search and analyze historical data and to view and generate periodic reports in order to more closely manage the business.

"Over the years ScripNet has developed a very effective and timely process to work pending claims with our clients, supported by our internal ScripStar® production database, our 24/7 professionally staffed help desk and our toll-free phone and email systems," said Dennis Sponer, President & CEO, ScripNet. "While those resources remain in place, our clients now have secure online access to their claims data through SNAP," said Sponer.

Client adjusters have been notified of pending authorizations (non-formulary claims that require prior authorization) through secure encrypted email messages from ScripNet's help desk, including detailed information about the injured worker, the claim, prescription, physician and pharmacy. Client adjusters could reply to ScripNet's help desk emails with an approval or denial of the claim, specific drugs, number of refills, etc., which the help desk then noted in ScripNet's ScripStar® production database. That process established an immediate policy for subsequent claims. With SNAP, claims adjusters have the ability to see those pending authorizations online in real time, and have the option to make an immediate determination and online notation themselves, and/or initiate an online chat session with the help desk to discuss the issue, or instead, continue to use the email adjudication process on a case by case and minute by minute basis.

SNAP supports a full complement of search parameters, including: search for prior authorizations by adjuster, by claim, social security number, injured worker name, address, and date of birth. Claims data automatically filters by client, group, employer and, if required, by adjuster. Prior authorizations can also be filtered to look at recent, pending, and expired statuses. SNAP also has extensive standard online reports, as well as online reports that clients can view and define themselves or request. Reports and data can be saved to PDF, Excel documents, or downloaded.

SNAP also allows direct web-based access to ScripNet Formularies, information about specific drugs and physicians and a pharmacy location lookup capability. SNAP will make it easier for clients to work with ScripNet to improve their knowledge and management of pharmacy claims, shorten claims processing cycles and improve customer service, improve business efficiency and effectiveness and contain costs. Client demos of SNAP are available upon request.
