Scrabble Hasbro Becomes a First for Amazon Kindle
Scrabble Hasbro is the first paid application for Amazon's Kindle. Scrabble for Kindle can be played whenever-wherever. The game features all the controls you would expect from the classic Scrabble.
- (1888PressRelease) October 05, 2010 - During this past summer, Amazon released a coding-kit for developers to build their own Kindle Applications (KDK). The first game to take advantage of the KDK was Shuffled Row, a free Scrabble Hasbro clone. Every Word, another word game, soon followed. There are many different Word and other brain games available for Kindle users now.
Scrabble fans can compete against the Kindle, itself, a friend, or a solo game.
Nowadays, the good old-fashioned board games are making their way onto the latest technological gadgets, Scrabble being no exception. So, will this latest app manage to knock other games out the way, such as Trivial Pursuit, Battleship and Stratego?
So far the reviews have been good. While there is not enough data to be considered statistically significant, those that have given reviews gave it high marks. The comments indicate that the game is easy to play and moves quickly. The different game modes allow for flexibility, and it tracks your stats.
There is one limitation, though. It has a simple black-and-white reader, which is a little visually unappealing, but it does keep score. So the player does not have to worry about adding or keeping paper handy.
Scrabble Hasbro has been a classic for years. There is a website devoted to selling the Scrabble classic at http://www.ScrabbleHasbro.com. They have everything for the Hasbro word game lover there.
