Scottsdale golf club announces Desert Diamond Classic Ladies Member-Guest Tournament
Registration for the 2013 Scottsdale golf club Desert Diamond Classic Ladies Member-Guest Tournament will be available beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 20th on ForeTees under the "events" tab or by calling the Golf Shop at 480.342.7210.
- (1888PressRelease) February 23, 2013 - Scottsdale, AZ, USA - Once you have completed the initial registration on ForeTees the Scottsdale private Golf Professional Staff will confirm your entry via email and provide you with all tournament information and detailed registration forms. The entry deadline is Friday, January 25th, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. We have every expectation that this year's tournament will have the largest field in the history of the event and hope that you plan to play.
The 2013 Scottsdale golf club Desert Diamond Classic is scheduled for March 25-28, 2013. The Desert Diamond Classic field will be limited to 72 teams. Sports Social Members are also invited to register. If you are in need of a partner, please inform Scottsdale private Golf Shop upon registering for the tournament and we will do our best to help find you one. Should entries exceed 72; teams will be placed on a waiting list based on the date which their entry was received. The entry fee for the tournament is $700 per team. This will be charged to your account in two increments, with a $350 deposit on Thursday, January 31st, and the remaining $350 on Thursday, February 28th.
Format: The Scottsdale golf club tournament will consist of two person teams divided into flights of 6 teams per flight. Flights will be based on combined team handicap indexes. Each team will play 5 nine-hole matches within its flight to determine the flight champion. Flight champions qualify to compete for the overall championship in a four hole shoot-out following Thursday's nine-hole match.
Scoring: Teams will receive one point for each hole won, 1/2 points for each hole tied, and zero points for each hole lost. The maximum points a team may win per match is nine. There are forty-five possible points in each flight.
Handicap: The course handicaps of all four players in each match are reduced by the course handicap of the player with the lowest handicap, who then plays from scratch. The maximum allowable course handicap differential between partners is 12 strokes. In the event of a differential greater than 12 the higher handicap player will be adjusted down to maintain the 12 stroke differential. Each index will be course adjusted and divided by half to determine the nine hole handicap for each player.
Every player is responsible for playing under their current handicap index as of March 15, 2013. The committee makes its best effort to obtain correct handicaps. If there is an error, it is the responsibility of the player to report it to the committee immediately.
