The Pittsburgh Chapter of SCORE offers its "Small Business Basics" Workshop on Saturday, March 24, 2012 , from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM in downtown Pittsburgh at the PNC YMCA at 236 Fifth Avenue, 2nd Floor.

Get the basic information you need to put your new small business on the path to success at the SCORE "Small Business Basics" Workshop. Local finance, banking, accounting, legal, and marketing professionals together with SCORE counselors will provide you with information about how to start a small business. Topics include: why and how to develop a business plan; how to finance your business; how to borrow from a bank; accounting requirements for your business; how to market your business in the 21st century; and what legal structure is best for you.

SCORE is a national, non-profit volunteer organization serving the business community through counseling and educational business workshops. SCORE counsels business start-ups and existing small businesses in Southwestern Pennsylvania. SCORE is a resource partner of the Small Business Administration (SBA). The local chapter has 55 counselors with a vast array of experience.
SCORE counseling is free, confidential and ongoing for as long as the client finds it useful. The bi-monthly small business basics workshops and specialty workshops are underwritten by local banks.
